Lego therapy

Lego Therapy is a fun and effective way to help children develop important social and communication skills through structured play.

At Cromer Road Primary, in small groups, children work together to build Lego models, with each child taking on a specific role, like the builder (puts pieces together), the engineer (gives instructions), or the supplier (finds the right pieces).

Pupils learn to work as a team; children learn to:

  • Take turns and share
  • Listen and follow directions
  • Use clear communication
  • Solve problems together
  • Work as a team
  • Builds social skills
  • Boosts confidence

Lego Therapy is especially helpful for children who find social interaction challenging, such as those with autism or other social communication needs.

At Cromer Road Primary School, we use this approach to support our pupils' social development in a fun, low-pressure environment. Ms Slack, who  runs these sessions is experienced and pupils build their social skills, showing greater confidence.

Parents often tell us they have seen a real boost in their child’s confidence, teamwork skills and ability to build positive relationships with others.
