Welcome to Year 3,

Happy New Year! We hope you have all had an enjoyable break and are ready to start learning again.

This half term,we will be doing projects focusing on Science - Animals including humans, in History we will be looking at The Ancient Maya which will also link to our Art project making clay pots. In PSHE we will be looking at different types of relationship and our French lessons will be focusing on animals.

We will continue to focus on our core subjects everyday engaging the children in all their learning. Below you will find our Curriculum Letter and the Home Learning Grids. The Home Learning Grid is also on our Google Classrooms where the children can directly upload their work. You will notice on the Home Learning Grid that we have included weekly spellings on Sumdog. The first spelling activity will be uploaded on Friday 7th January 2022.

Christmas doors

All the teachers and children in the school have had fun creating Christmas Doors. Below are Birch and Rowan's Christmas Doors.

D&T

This half term, we are learning how to sew with the end goal of making our own cushions. At the beginning of the topic, we looked at a range of materials and tried to name them all. In our next lesson, we used a needle, thread and a binka to create a running stitch. The next stage of our project was to design a front cover for our cushion. After working hard on our sewing skills the final products were finished.
